Project Description
This project’s scope required the complete replacement of the hospital’s emergency backup electrical system. HMS provided turn-key construction for the installation of 3 new CAT 2.25MW emergency generators, ASCO generator control systems, and EATON distribution switchgear. Site work for these installations included reconfiguring the central plant layout to isolate critical components of these systems and provide climate control for the paralleling and distribution equipment. Structural work included the design and installation of the steel support structure to support three new radiators that were placed on top of the building. This project was constructed in phases so at no time was the hospital without emergency power that was required to be online within 10 seconds. Other notable work included upgrades to existing primary circuits, and power management systems that support the hospital distribution equipment.
