Tripler Army Hospital – Inside Cable Refresh at Various Bldgs/Tripler

Project Description

This project’s scope required the removal and replacement of over 85 miles of communication cabling. Existing Cat5 cables were replaced with Cat6 Plenum rated cables inside multiple occupied campus buildings at Tripler Army Medical Center and Schofield Barracks Health Clinics. HMS performed the site survey and worked with engineers and TAMC/SBHC Telcom management to develop the work plan. Rough in included core drilling, fire stopping, and documentation of penetrations for all new cabling. Over 2,700 drops were tested, terminated and certified to TIA/EIA standards. This project was done in multiple phase to minimize impact to patients and staff. Infectious control measures were implemented throughout construction activities. HMS coordinated over 1500 telecom outages with TAMC and SBHC Telcom Management.
